Rod Stewart – Guitar Signature Licks
Rod Stewart Guitar Signature Licks PDF + Mp3 CD download. Learn the trademark guitar riffs and solos of Rod Stewart’s famous axe-wielding sidemen with this fantastic Signature Licks book/CD pack. You’ll hear and learn to play the key parts of 12 songs.
Rod Stewart is one of those artists for whom finding piano/vocal arrangements is quite easy. But Rod also spent much of his career working with some of the best rock guitarists in the business. This book contains transcriptions of the guitar parts of a dozen songs Rod’s recorded through the years with an eye toward variety and diversity. Thus, we begin with the late 60s bombast of “Shapes of Things” (from Rod’s brief stay in the Jeff Beck Group) onto the balladry of “Gasoline Alley” and “Maggie May” and the Stones-like swagger of “Stay with Me” and “Hot Legs.” By the way, “Hot Legs” alone has enough juicy, fantastic licks to satisfy any fans of Keith Richards-style rock guitar. There’s also a nice CD that contains the arrangements as well as certain guitar tracks slowed down to make it easier to learn.
The Signature Licks Series features book and CD packs and DVDs specially designed to teach a musician the trademark techniques of popular artists and musical styles. Each package features an in-depth breakdown of the riffs and sounds unique to the band or artist: the sounds which have led the band or artist to be recognizable by their own signature sound. The Signature Licks Series is an excellent resource to learn what makes for a unique sound as well as help you develop your own.
